This is a lovely antique cut glass hanging shade - would look good in a hallway or a bedroom.
It dates to the early 20th Century and has a stylised Art Nouveau design - it is consistent with designs from this period. The glass shade is an original one - and not a later reproduction.
The pendant shade is a lovely tear shape with deeply engraved geometric decoration - as you might find on crystal glasses. The brass gallery holding the shade is a replacement - but is to the same design as the original one would have been. The cable simply attaches to your light connections in your ceiling rose.
The shade measures including the holder 7 inches in height. From the tip of the shade to the rim - it measures 6 1/4 inches and is 4 1/4 inches in diameter at its widest point.
I love the engraved decorations cut into the clear glass- it is very Art Nouveau in style - with a criss-cross pattern at the top and with curved lines running down to the tip and forming conjoined oval shapes - that meet at a point on the centre of the base of the shade.
The shade has no condition issues - it is just really lovely and hard to find in such condition.
