Again, many thanks to members of the British Studio Pottery Mystery Pots group - they quickly identified the maker's PT stamp on the side of my pot as belonging to Patrick Taylor of Saltash Pottery. He started his pottery career at Saltash in Cornwall in 1995 - before moving to Plesse in France in 2001.
This is a unique piece of 1990s Cornish Studio or Art Pottery and it looks great on display. I love its undulating shape and the subtle speckled glazes and Japanese-inspired painted decorative lines.
It is a very sculptural and dramatic piece when on display. The decoration has been inspired by the blue seas, surf and sands around the Cornish coast. It will look quite stunning on display in a seaside cottage. It is a very nice and sophisticated work by him.
This pot is a unique hand-made vintage piece and is certainly very attractive - I have taken this into account with my pricing.
