This is a more unusual vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1950s or early 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather than being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in older Vasart examples.
There is a pale yellow ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. There is a polished pontil mark on the base - and there are little signs of wear where the weight has been picked up and put back down over the years.
There is a central tiny green cane with a rose pink rosette surrounding it. There are five little randomly placed half spokes of intertwined yellow and claret latticino canes. The spokes look a little like a starfish (to me!). But this is a very bright tutti frutti pallette.
The diameter at the widest point is 3 inches and the height is just over 2 inches.
No damages or scratches to the glass. Fair price for this fine vintage paperweight.
