This is a more unusual pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs in my Iconic Edinburgh Online store - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are slightly harder to find examples - which are known as Disraeli Dogs - they come complete with little painted kiss curls on their foreheads - reminiscent of the hairstyle of the Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli.
They generally also have finer modelling - and are not so much flatback models - but formed in the round. These ones have detached front legs.
They have shiny black patches - and antique dull gold paint to the chain and padlock on their collars. They are yellow-painted eyes
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are nicely modelled examples in good antique condition - and form a matched pair as created.
CONDITION: The dogs are in good antique condition. The front legs are without damage or any restorations. There is routine craquelure to the glaze commensurate with age. There is a little restored chip to the back paw (rear area) of the right-hand side dog - but it is certainly not noticeable unless of close-up inspection. Taken lots and lots of photographs for you to assess the condition of this beautiful and rarer pair of dogs.

There is an air vent hole on the back of each dog.
They are an attractive pair and will look fabulous on a country kitchen dresser or on a fireplace in a Victorian parlour.
These are a cute more compact size for a more modern domestic size. Height: 10 inches. Width: about 7 1/2 inches and Depth: at the widest is about 4 3/4 inches.
