This is one of a selection of vintage Scottish paperweights that I am listing in my shop - all with very fair prices attached to them.
The one was made by Selkirk Glass in the Scottish Borders. It is etched on the base Selkirk Glass Scotland 1995.
It is called Harlequin.
Selkirk Glass was set up by Peter Holmes and Ron Hutchison in 1977. Peter Holmes left in 2002. The company sadly closed in 2006 - so these beautiful weights are no longer being made.
It has a height of 3 1/4 inches and a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The weight unpacked is 820 grams.
It is a very pretty magnum size weight - with a floor or cushion of textured white - with the rippled edges touched with blue, like the waves on the sea. From the center issues a floral motif with fans out across the interior space. This decoration has harlequin stripes of blue, blue, and green. It has a central silvered air bubble. It looks best when viewed from above.
It is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
