This is a lovely late Georgian / early Victorian set of four matching hand-blown finger bowls.
I have four matching ones, also a pair which match and a single one.
This is my listing for the four earliest ones - they are a darker Bristol Lbue colour and the glass is slightly thicker and they are heavier in weight.
The price is very fair, at just under £50 for each bowl - and all my bowls (marked A) are the same size, date and colour (give or take a little on the size due to each being a unique individually hand-blown item).
These antique glass finger bowls or rinsers - would have been used to rinse your fingers at a fancy dining tale after indulging fancy finger foods - or to rinse quickly wine glasses - so that different wines did not taint each other in a glass.
They are all in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration - a little rubbing (slight and not disfiguring) to the pontil halo on the base - commensurate with age and them being picked up and down from a dining table. This is a good sign!
Each finger bowl has a polished pontil to the base.
They measure (approx) 3 1/2 inches in height - and with a diameter at the widest of 4 3/4 inches. Each glass bowl is nearly 500 grams in weight unpacked).
These are a rich dark more opaque blue colour - and are harder to find - and these ones are a larger size - this is reflected in my asking price.
I also have some rarer amethyst ones in my online store - postal discounts would of course apply.
