This is one of five little vintage Goebel china figurines featuring cute little comical cats - each dressed as humans.
They all date from the early 196os and were designed by Albert Staehle (1899-1974) - one of America's greatest animal illustrators of the mid-20th century.
These wee black cat models are rare survivors and given their fragility great to find them without issues after 60 years.
They are all in PURRR-fect condition. I must admit that I am more of a doggie person - but these uber-cute models would certainly melt your heart.
This one takes the form of a doctor or perhaps a dentist. He is shown in his white lab coat and wears yellow spectacles. He raises a litte finger to capture attention. He is being listened to by two little white kittens. The boy kitten wears blue dungarees and the girl kitty has on a little pink dress. Now what is the big cat saying: Remember to brush your teeth? Watch your weight? Anyway, a rarer edition from this series.
This little china Goebel figurine has no damage or restorations. It is fully marked to the base - and has the model number. KT 259.
My little model measures 4 1/2 inches in height and 3 1/2 wide. Unpacked the model is 120 grams in weight.
UK postage would be with Royal Mail Recorded. This will cost £4.95 and applied at the checkout. We shall of course pack very, very carefully as he is very delicate.
