This is a lovely vintage 1970s Guzzini Style Cream Marblised Plastic & Chrome Mushroom Hanging Ceiling Light.
It is a good quality light and is possibly not fully Italian in origin, but probably British Made under license.
The label inside the shade reads: Prova. These shades were also made by Prova for use on table lamps. This shade can only be used as a hanging ceiling shade - as the fitment is not suitable for a table lamp.
It has an Italian Rolly rise and fall mechanism inside, as photographed. This is green in colour and marked Rolly.
It is certainly a fine vintage space-age globular shade in a more unusual colour with the marbled effect to the shade exterior - I have taken close-up photographs of the pattern.
It has a rise-and-fall mechanism. It has a coiled cord and the Rolly mechanism inside allows the shade to be pulled down and raised up.
The cable is curly around the main flex and covered with a black woven textile cloth. I think that it is a two-core flex.
The light is in pretty good vintage condition - with no apparent damages or burn marks etc to the plastic ball. Please note, to keep it in tip-top condition use a low-heat LED bulb - or a standard bulb no stronger than 60 watts.
It is an authentic vintage shade - indeed, I can confirm that it has been up in my loft all packed up for the last 20 years when I moved in.
There is a little marking and pitting to the chrome on the top of the shade - this is commensurate with its age and the metal. You would not see this when the shade is in-situ. I have taken this pitting into consideration with the pricing - I sold a very similar one in white with a better chrome fitment in early 2022 for £130.
I have included lots of images here on my listing so that you can get a good idea of all details and condition of this old shade. It is certainly a lovely genuine 1970s British large modernist futuristic shade - you won't be disappointed with it.
Dimensions: The diameter at the widest point is 15 inches. The height is 10 inches. So a big one!
It has a minimum drop of about 30 inches (can be pulled down longer). So hope this helps you to decide if it will fit into your interior.
