This is a lovely large-sized antique chemist bottle. It dates to the late 19th century / early 20th century. It is complete with its original red, white, and gold foil label with a glass cover.
The label reads TROCH: IPECACUAN: This indicates that it contained Syrup of Ipeca.
This is in good condition as you can see. There is no staining on the inside. The glass cover to the white, gold, and red foil label is without damage. Underneath - there is a little crackling to the white foil section to the left-hand side of the bottle and a little mark above the P E letters, all as photographed. The photographs exaggerate the severity of this. The issue with the white area of the foil is reflected in a reduced asking price for the nice Victorian glass bottle.
There is a York Glass Company impressed mark on the base.
The bottle has a fabulous round, flat stopper - which is so unusual for a chemist bottle with all its facets. The large stopper allows for a much wider neck to the bottle. The stopper is original to the bottle - and fits perfectly.
The height including the stopper is 9 inches and the diameter is 3 1/2 inches - so a nice large size.
UK Postage will cost £4.95 with Royal Mail Recorded post - and will be applied at the checkout.
