These are a fine large-sized pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
They are nicely modelled examples with no chips or cracks - they have their original dark glass eyes. The modelling on this pair is more minimalistic and monumental in form than other examples in my Iconic Edinburgh online store.
They are a matched pair, as created.
Each dog has a little gold-coloured collar with a padlock on it - the padlock and chain on each dog have some rubbing and losses to the gilding - but this is a common occurrence on these old Victorian examples. However, all the shiny gilt highlights on the fur are still very much in place with little signs of rubbing - they look just lovely.
They are fine display pieces - and will look fabulous on a mantlepiece or old-fashioned kitchen dresser.
This is a very large pair. Height: 12 inches. Width: 10 1/2 inches and with a depth of 4 inches.
Due to their weight, they are UK posting only. This will cost about £10 and will be for Parcelforce recorded post to you. This will be applied to the order at the checkout.
