This is a fine vintage desktop clock on a stand, It is a nice generous size.
It dates from the late 1960s and is a very good quality Swiss-made clock by SWIZA.
It is a manual wind - and fully wound up will run for about 8 days (as annotated on the face). So you will need to assign a special time each week to wind it up. The clock also has an alarm function. All the controls are on the raised enamel black metal area on the back, as photographed.
The clock is a good quality novelty one and takes the form of a gold-tone guitar. The face is a cream colour. It is marked to the top Swiza 7 Jewels. The face is nice and clean with no condition issues. The face is covered with glass. The face is marked into sections - with baton markings at each quarter hour. The hands are not set in the center of the oval face - but nearer to the bottom - which increases the quirky feeling of the design. The clock stands on a circular gold-tone metal base - and he stands nice and steady.
All the controls are on the back - as photographed. This clock has an alarm - it is a simple bell sound - other ones seem to have a musical device - but sometimes - this might prove a bit of a nuisance.
It comes with its original cardboard retail box (a rare survivor) and also with its guarantee issued with it when it was sold in 1970. The guarantee says that it was sold in Aboyne in Aberdeenshire.
Dimensions: The overall height is 6 3/4 inches. The diameter of the face is 2 3/4 x 2 inches. The round base stand is just over 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
I have been running this lovely clock at home before listing - and it keeps good time and the alarm works as it is supposed to.
