This is another gorgeous vintage Scottish paperweight in my store.
It is made by Perthshire Paperweights and dates to around the late 1970s.
This is a really beautiful example and this is reflected in my asking price - with a grand total of fourteen red, white and green twist spokes and all the tiny millefiori canes - it must have taken a very long time and great skill to make.
It is a larger size - being about 2 inches in height and with a diameter at the widest point of about 3 inches.
The ground is dark black colour - with makes all the inset millefiori canes look quite lacy. It has the usual polished pontil that you find on these fine Perthshire weights. All the coloured canes are very subtle and attractive pastel shades but enlivened by the bright red in the twists in the spokes.
As mentioned it has a total of thirteen spokes which issues from the central rosette.
As you can a most intricate and exquisite weight - and all the canes and latticinio twists are very fine. It is in fine vintage condition for display - no chips or cracks.
A really attractive Scottish paperweight and a top-quality example.
