These are a pair of collectable vintage Norwegian Hadeland crystal paperweights.
The pair are on offer here. Both are of roughly the same size and date to the 1970s.
They are lovely weights - are hand made and are pure lead crystal (as annotated on the label on the more abstract runic design.
This one is slightly thick than the one with the abstract Viking ship. It is 6.5 cm square and with a depth of 3 cm.
The longboat one is 6.5 cm square with a depth of 2.5 cm.
These pieces of vintage Hadeland crystal are very collectable - and look good on display. The decoration is made by cutting or engraving out the design from the back - and it gives a more 3-D effect when viewed from the front. Being so smooth - they are very tactile when held in your hand.
Both are in excellent condition with no damages. The Viking Ship is lacking its original paper label. Great wee vintage pieces of Scandinavian glass for a modernist interior.
Hadeland Glass was first established in 1762 - making it the oldest continuously operating manufacturing company in Norway. The company started out making bottles, apothecary jars, and fishing floats - but by the early 20th century it was producing fine tableware and art glass in the Scandinavian modern style.
The weights are priced at a very fair £22 each - with postage for the pair with Royal Mail Recorded set at £4.95
