Webb Corbett is one of the great names in English lead-crystal glass. It was set up in 1897.

The original company name was Thomas Webb and Corbett Limited, and it was always a completely separate operation from Thomas Webb and Sons which later became Webb's Crystal Glass Co. Ltd., another famous Stourbridge crystal glass company. Thomas Webb and Corbett Ltd changed their name to Webb Corbett Ltd in the 1930s.

In 1969 the company was taken over by Royal Doulton Company, and in 1986 they stopped using the Webb Corbett name. Glass from the former Webb Corbett glassworks was then produced under the name Royal Doulton Crystal until this glassworks closed down.

I have a few different sizes in this very rare pattern in my shop. I have arranged them into sets of six glasses and then into some spares. I haven't as yet been able to locate other pieces or the pattern name - but I have narrowed the maker and date down to them all being produced by Webb Corbett between 1930 - 1947  as a couple of the whisky tumblers have this engraved mark on the base.

As you can see from my photographs - the pattern is very intricate, a highly crafted one, and certainly very beautiful. It is very Deco 30s in style - with faceted "thumbprints" and stars near the rim. A ring of parallel lines is engraved further down. Nearer to the foot are long vertical oval-shaped cut facets all around. The stem is short and faceted all around. The foot is plain by contract with no cutting of the crystal. I have taken lots of images so that you can assess this as yet "anonymous" pattern and see all the fine details in the cutting.

This is a lot of "spares" of good-sized glasses. I had 5 individual ones in this size. NOV 2023. I have sold two of them. So now only 3 single glasses are AVAILABLE IN TOTAL IN THIS SIZE (as well as a set of six already listed)..

They are a flute / conical shape. They would be great for white or sparking wines - each glass is 5 1/2  inches in height - with a diameter across the rim of 3 inches. The foot is 2 1/2 inches. Each glass weighs an average of 200 grams. Being thick crystal - they have a good weight to them being all hand-blown and then engraved. Each glass is in excellent condition, nice and clean with no damages.

A good quality crystal glass - as they are nearly 100 years old - the price for these is certainly a fair one. I have them marked up at about £12 for each glass.

This set of individual vintage 30s crystal wine glasses is Code B +

I will send them about £4.95 for a small parcel with Royal Mail up to 2 kg. Any postal overpayments will be refunded to you.
