These are really cute - and a great wee set if you collect antique Children's Ceramics / Nursery Ware.
On offer here are a wee job lot of wee round plates. These date to the mid to late 19th century.
They are great little display items and in lovely condition with no chips or cracks. These little miniature pieces are now quite rare and you have to look hard to find these little table-size pieces scaled down for display or children. They were originally produced to go into a nursery so that little children could learn how to handle ceramics and become familiar with all the tableware that you might find on an adult dining table.
Despite being for children - they are of exceptional quality - and made perfectly to scale. They are in excellent antique condition.
I have a number of other wee pieces in this design listed in my online store.
I love the pattern on these - covered all over with a transfer-printed image of lots of tiny green stars and dots. The edge has a traditional Victorian decorative pattern.
Many of the pieces have an impressed maker's mark on the which I have been sadly unable to identify.
There are three larger plates that are 10 cm in diameter. The next ones are 9 cm in diameter and the smallest are 8 cm in diameter (a total of 11 plates). I am listing them at around £5 each.
There are five plates on offer here as shown in my photographs. I am pricing EACH of them up at £5 - given the rarity and condition of them. The milk jug I will list with the job lot at £10.
