This is an attractive pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs in my Iconic Edinburgh Online store - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are decorated with painted russet-coloured decorations as patches on each doggie. They have black painted eyes with yellow surrounds.
They are genuine late Victorian examples, and definitely NOT reproductions.
CONDITION: they are both in excellent condition with no nasty chips or damages, There is an old firing crack on the base of one dog - where it was fired in the kiln - the old dull gold lustre glaze is slightly rubbed, especially on the chain and padlock area. This is commensurate with the dogs being picked up and down over the decades. There is no nasty crazing or dirty discolouration to the glaze.
One dog is slightly higher than the other - this is how they were designed as one is a boy doggie and the other a smaller girl dog. They are a matched pair as created.
There is an air vent hole on the base of each dog, as photographed.
They are such a fine pair and will look fabulous on a country kitchen dresser or on a fireplace in a Victorian parlour.
This larger pair is 9 ½ inches in height with a width of 7 1/4 inches and a depth of 4 inches.
UK Postage Only. Due to size and weight - they will have to be posted to you with Parcelforce48. This will cost about £10 and applied to your order at checkout.
