This is a pretty piece of vintage hand-blown Scottish art glass. It an earlier piece of Vasart glass and it dates to around the 1950s.
It has a little polished pontil that you find on pieces of Monart glass - but this is a piece of later Vasart glass - with an etched signature on the base, as photographed. The shape number (all signed) is V022
It is certainly a pretty vase with quite subtle, pale pastel shades of grey-jade shade - with a darker blue-steel grey colour around the rim. I love the colours on this one. And all the gold-coloured aventurine sprinkles inside the rim.. there are oodles to them and they fair twinkle in the light.
The glass is thick and heavy on this one - it is a substantial piece - with an attractive flared trumpet shape. Unpacked it is 1.1 kg in weight.
Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Nice larger size measuring 7 1/2 inches in height. The vase flares out towards the rim - which is 7 inches. The foot is 4 1/4 inches.
Fair price for a larger piece of vintage Vasart studio glass.
Due to its size - it would have to be sent tracked and signed for with Parcelforce24 as a larger parcel - this sadly pushes up the postage quote a little. It will be about £10 to post to you - and this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
