This is one of a small number of beautiful Scottish paperweights designed by the glass maestro William Manson - which are available my Iconic Edinburgh online store.
UPDATE: All are now sold - this is the last one left!
This lovely weight is called Rose Garland - and is number 71 out of a small limited edition of 100 (as annotated on the base).
It closed at 95 - so not so many were made as originally projected.
It is fully inscribed with edition details, title etc on the base.
There is a little white WM signature cane between the flower heads which is seen in my photographs.
It was issued in 1992.
Sadly - it has no box or certificate but is complete with all details signed on the base. It is a fine example - and is a cushion cut with facets all around. The ground is a dark emerald green colour.
Inside the weight - there are two large beautifully rendered, delicate lampwork flowers - these are in bright pink and blue. The detail on the two flowers is amazing.
It is in fairly good vintage condition. It has no major condition issues - certainly no nasty chips or scratches. Sadly, it has a very teeny weeny fleabite to one of the circular polished viewing facets on the side. I have tried to photograph this for you in extreme close-up, so please see my images. The tiny ding is on one the facet edges and towards the base of the weight and is not noticeable when on display.
If this rare and attractive lampwork paperweight was 100% perfect condition - then I would have it listed and priced at £225.
The tiny condition issue is reflected in my much-reduced price of £175.
It has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches and a height of 2 inches.
Weight: 442 grams
