This is a rare antique Scottish Pottery figurine of Wee Macgregor dressed in his kilt, brown shirt, and military bonnet.
I have previously had another similar figurine of Macgregor dressed in a football strip with a brown shirt and blue shorts.
Wee Macgregor is a character in a book by the Scottish writer, J.J. Bell. He is a working-class boy of around seven or eight years old and comes from the east end of Glasgow.
Macgregor stands nonchalantly with one hand on his hip.
It was made in the 1920s by the Britannia Pottery of Glasgow.
He is a fairly large size for display - measuring some 14 inches in height and has a diameter at the base of 4 3/4 inches by 4 inches.
These figures of Wee Macgregor dressed in his kilt are much rarer antique pieces of Scottish pottery. They are certainly rarer than the ones of him in his football strip.
He is in good condition and displays well.
