This is another pretty piece of Victorian Scottish pottery - made by Robert Heron & Sons / Methven Pottery / Links Pottery, Kirkcaldy.
It is an attractive squat lidded bowl that comes complete with a matching cover.
Dimensions: Overall height to the top of the lid knop is 4 1/2 inches. The width at the widest point is 5 inches.
The weight unpacked is 700 grams.
Code H.
It is probably more of an item that you might display on your dressing table - than for regular use.
Robert Methven Heron was the owner of the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy. He introduced a new pottery range called Wemyss Ware in 1882.
It is a fine piece of antique Scottish studio pottery.
It is certainly a very fresh hand-painted pattern. I have a number of pieces with this decoration on sale in my online store. Again, this bowl is in pretty fine antique condition.
It has no nasty chips or disfiguring cracks. The glaze on the pot is nice and glossy - so would assess this as being a very lovely piece in good antique condition. There is a tiny hairline crack near the rim - which I have photographed in extreme close-up and you can check to assess. This is not visible when your pot is on display. I have taken this wee condition issue into account with my price here. If perfect I would have had this on offer for £125.
These shallow bowls and covers are much harder to find.
The price to post in the UK will be £4.95 - this is with Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded and applied to your order at checkout.
If you would like more than one of my Heron / Methven items - I can cap multiple purchases at £10 in the UK.
