These are delightful decorative pieces of Scottish Art Pottery. They probably date to the 1920s or 1930s. They were decorated by one of the Scottish Lady Decorators or Painters.
At this time, local Scottish potteries in Glasgow and ones in Edinburgh such as Bough or Makmerry engaged ladies to hand decorate blank pieces made by larger factories or firms. The blanks are not usually marked but you often find the monogram or name of the lady artist painted on the base. These ones are signed on the back GLA.
This is certainly a fine and unique pair of side plates decorated all over with stylized flowers on a blue-painted background. I love the octagonal shape of the plates. Both are in lovely antique condition. with no chips or cracks.
Dimensions: The Diameter is 6 3/4 inches.
I have taken a few images for your inspection. These are unique pieces of old Scottish Art Pottery My asking price is certainly a fair one - you won't find another pair identical to these. I have a similar smaller pair listed in my shop.
