This is a lovely vintage traditional Scottish Silver Brooch.
It is all hallmarked on the back and has a very tiny lozenge with the maker's initials - it is hard to read but think it contains the letters: JH (or JC) - for the celebrated Scottish silversmith: John Hart. (or James Coull). Sadly the letter on the hallmark is so small that I cannot clearly make it out - but it certainly dates to the 1970s.
The brooch takes the form of a Celtic cross with knotwork details and a slightly raised small central boss with a criss-cross pattern. The central cross-section has a circular band with a geometric Greek key pattern.
The clasp is a locking ring. Dimensions: 3.5 cm at the widest point. As you can see from my photographs - a very finely made and delicately detailed piece of vintage Scottish jewellery.
Shall be sent in a little simple black card gift box.
