This is a fine piece of Scottish agate jewellery that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh store,
This one is a large Victorian Lover's Knot Brooch - and dates to around the 1880s. The broch has a selection of inset Scottish agates - these are all as expected, with no chips or losses. The plain section of the knot at the front is engraved with a decorative pattern to embellish the brooch.
The brooch is made of an outer circle set with four agats. In the center is a quatrefoil shape knot - and this also has four inset stones.
The brooch has an antique steel pin on the back. The reverse is covered with a thick layer of silver. There is the usual C-clasp which you often find of Victorian jewellery. It does not have a hallmark - which is typical of the period. It is being sold as solid silver.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. The colour of the silver is slightly dark in my images - it is a lot brighter and more silver-coloured in real life.
It is 4.5 cm in diameter and has a good weight- 22.8 grams.
This brooch will be sent in a gift box - and posted in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded post. This will cost £.4.95 and applied to your order at checkout.
