This is a very collectable little glass hanging light shade which dates to the 1950s.
My glass shade is in pretty good vintage condition and it looks very good hanging up. It is very 50s rock and roll and would look great in a rockabilly / Festival of Britain inspired interior.
It is a right wee cutie. This is a handy little vintage 50s glass hanging lamp shade - great if you live in a duplex or mid-century flat with lower ceilings and you might not wish for a large hanging pendant shade.
This shade is completely made of glass. It has a top section - like a little cap made of painted scarlet red glass - and below is the main body section - made of clear glass - with swirling candy canes striped applied with engraved textured shapes that are frosted.
It is quite simple and minimalistic in design - so a nice addition to a more understated interior.
It is in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches to the glass.
It fits onto any standard bayonet fitting.
Overall height is 8 1/2 inches - inside diameter at the bottom is just over 4 1/4 inches. The diameter of the widest (red) section is 7 1/2 inches. The diameter at the top is for a normal British bayonet fitting. Unpacked it is 800 grams.
These old original glass shades are now hard to find - as so many of them have been broken over the years. This one is in such lovely condition and such an attractive one too.
To keep it safe in transit to you I will have to post this one to UK with Royal Mail Medium-Sized Parcel. This will be a tracked service. It will cost £6.95 and this will be applied at the checkout.
