This is a vintage powder compact for loose face powder.
It dates to the late 1950s. It does not appear to have a maker's mark. It is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it.
The main body is a bright rose gold tone - and the top of the lid has a central geometric flowerhead embellishment - this is raised from the main body - and is made up of clear and ruby red diamantes. There are also matching strips along each edge of the longest sides. There are no damages to the actual lid surface - with is nice and shiny with no scratches. I think some of the little clear diamante stones have been lost over the last 70 years - but they are so small that you can hardly notice this. I have taken a number of close-up images of these areas so that you can assess any losses. I have taken this into account with my pricing for this one.
The base is a simple dull gold-tone metal (no damaged). Inside is a mirror in the lid - and free from blemishes. The base would hold loose powder which has a metal cover that snaps and locks on top of the powder reservoir. It retains its original powder shifter.
It measures just 3 inches x 2 1/2 inches (7 x 6.2 cm). This is certainly a wee cutie - the perfect vanity accessory for popping in a little evening purse for a glamourous evening event.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Good price for this more unusual vintage souvenir powder compact. The price to post would be £4.95 Recorded Delivery with the Royal Mail. This will be applied at checkout.
