This is a vintage powder compact for loose face powders. It would not take a cake of pressed powder.
It also has inside its original powder sifter or mesh for loose powder and its original little unused powder puff. This fine Stratton one also has an internal metal lid that closes and remains shut with a tiny catch. This is marked with the Stratton logo on the top. It hsa never been used and has stickers telling you how to open in the inner lid on the mirror.
It has an engine-turned decoration on the base, as photographed.
It dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
It has never been used and is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it.
The main body is gold-tone - and the top of the lid has a transfer printed image of Scottish thistles with purple flower heads. . Very pretty mid-century pressed powder compact.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface.
The diameter is 7.5 cm (3 inches). It is a slimmer compact - with a height of 1 cm.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
My asking price reflects its age and its exceptional condition.
