This is an attractive vintage 1970s desk lamp.
It has no maker's mark - but it is most probably British in origin.
It might have originally been retailed in the UK and sold at BHS (British Home Stores) in the 1970s. These BHS vintage pieces are now becoming quite collectable - with their stylish but affordable modernist designs.
I have a matching pair of these adjustable desk lamps in my store: THE PRICE HERE IT FOR ONE ONLY.
The lamp is made of a satin silver-tone finish on aluminum. The inside of the shade is a matt-white enamel. It has a vintage original black rubber base - so that the metal does not scratch your furniture - and the lamp can be angled. The lamp has a white plastic clip on the upstand - this allows you to move the shade up and down and also to move it in different angles - up and down - and tighten to hold it in place.
Each lamp also has its original finger switch - with a push button to put on and off - so no faffing about with wall sockets. The finger switch is certainly a sturdy and good quality one.
Each lamp is in good vintage condition with no nasty dents or dings to the metal and no scratches. There are about 2 - 2.5 meters of cable. There are no nasty scratches either to the metal - and you will be happy with them. Nice to have a pair available - if you wish two click the amount tab on the listing to select the other one. Postage discounts would apply and I would refund this to you.
Each lamp is identical and is in very good vintage condition, generally nice, and clean. No major disfiguring dents etc to the shade.
Of course, it is sold in working condition. It takes a Standard B22 bayonet light bulb.
It is about 16 inches in height.
The diameter of the base is 5 inches
The overall length of the shade is 6 inches
The diameter of the shade at the widest is 4 3/4 inches
Listed at a very fair price for a vintage 1970s desk lamp.
