This is a fine vintage 1960s Celtic Style Sterling Silver Brooch.
It has been designed by the celebrated Scottish silversmith, Robert Allison - and takes the form of a circular shield or Scottish targe. The pattern is made up of interlaced knotwork. The design has probably been taken directly by Allison from Alexander Ritchie moulds - and the detailing on this brooch is nice and crisp - with no loss of detail.
It is marked with the maker's initials on the reverse RA and has a Glasgow hallmark for the year 1945 - as photographed.
It has a locking c-clasp catch, as shown, The catch and pin are nice and secure. The tip of the pin is nice and sharp.
The diameter of the brooch is just over 1 1/2 inches (4 cm).
It is sold in nice vintage condition - polished, clean and all shiny. Ready to wear.
The brooch will be sent to you in a simple black card gift box - so that you can store it safely or give it as a little gift.
I am quoting postage to you as £4.95 with Royal Mail Recorded post - if I can post it cheaper - then happy to refund any overpayments. The postage will be applied to your order at the checkout.
