This is a stunning piece of eye-catching vintage costume jewllery.
It is a large vintage brooch. It is made from a gold-tone metal (not a precious metal, hence the price). From the quality of the making - I think that it might be gold-plated.
It dates to the late 1960s or early 1970s.
My brooch has no maker's mark on it - so it is sold as shown in my images. I am quite surprised that such a nice piece does not have a mark on it to identify the maker.
It is a good quality piece - and well made. It certainly looks stunning. The brooch is a circular dish shape - and made up of woven metal that forms a decorative mesh. The ends of each strand finish on the outer circumference and form a trim of tiny open-heart shapes, as photographed.
I love the raised and faceted bright blue glass inclusion - which is held firmly in place by a halo of tiny exquisitely made gold claws.
It has a bar on the back towards the top - so it does not show through the blue glass center to the front. It has a safety ring closure.
I have lots of images for you to assess the details and fine condition of this vintage piece of good costume jewellery.
The brooch measures just under 4.5 cm in diameter and has a depth of about 1 cm (not including the raised pin on the back).
I will carefully pack it up in a little study box to send to you. This will have to go with Royal Mail Recorded Post as a Small Parcel. This will cost £4.95 to send in the UK - and this will be applied at the checkout stage of your order.
It is a lovely piece, and as you can see - it has hardly been worn.
