These old pleated chiffon silk lampshades are now highly collectable.
The one is a lovely shape and colour - as you can see in my photographs.
The exterior is made up of lots of delicate pleats of fine chiffon silk. The interior is also made up of similar pleats - but in a white-beige shade.
The fabric is generally nice and clean - with no rips, tears or staining. The drab green colour is currently on trend - and is unfaded on my shade.
I love the addition of the green brocade edging top and bottom - and adore the little gold-coloured tassels. I love the unusual shape - and also that it has in-built a wire shade holder to attach to a lamp - this fits modern lamps and bulb holders.
We have personally owned this for many years - but we never had it on a lamp - doing a little thinning out of some "specials" from my own collection and offering them up for sale. This is one of my items that I have carefully looked after for many years - it comes from a "smoke-free" interior so no nasty smells or odors with it.
This is as nice an example of one of these shades that you might find.
Dimensions. The height is 10 inches. The bottom aperture is 12 x 10 1/2 inches. The top aperture is 6 1/2 x 4 inches.
