This is another one of my vintage Scottish Caithness Glass paperweights.
It is the second Single Harlequin example available in my store.
This is a lovely vintage paperweight Caithness one called Single Harlequin (with internal CG cane). It dates to 1976 and was a design derived from Paul Ysart. It was first issued in 1972 and later (as this one is) in 1976 with the CG cane.
It is a very pretty weight - with a dark blue-purple base colour. On top is a thin layer of melted millefiori canes forming a harlequin top - of mainly white and dark blue shades. This one has a large more pronounced red spot near the center. From the base issue nine leaping air bubbles with tails.
In lovely vintage condition with no damages. This one has no inscribed issue details to my base (this is on my other more expensive example). There is the remnants of an old Caithness paper label - but all the text on it is now gone.
There is also a very fine and thin (almost invisible) 1 cm long scratch on the lower side near the base and on the crown (as in my last image) - this is reflected in my lower asking price for this one. There are also some fine scratches on the base commensurate with age - and reflect that this weight has a good bit of age to it - over 45 years!
If perfect this weight would have been priced at £60.
