I am listing here a little gift set dating to the early 20th century - dating to the late 1930s / early 1940s. The set comes in its original cardboard presentation box with its flap up lid. The lid is decorated with a lady in a beautiful white ball gown and holding two floral bouquets. She is surrounded by a bevy of white swans. This image is on the top of the card box - and also repeats on the inside when you lift up the lid.
These early Dubarry products are now hard to find - and will be probably more of interest to the specialist collector.
The thing that is particularly amazing with this set - is that the original gift box or retail box still survives. The box has the lady and swan decoration on the top - and the side and base are a dark blue colour with white stars. There is a little rubbing to the blue colour on the base - where the box has been picked up and put down over many decades - but generally in nice vintage condition. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
The set consists of items with the then popular Lily of the Valley fragrance. There is a wrapped (and obviously unused) round cake of soap, three bath cubes and perhaps the best item - the Art Deco pressed glass bottle with peppermint green plastic stopper. The decoration shows a large sun in the bottom corner - with sunrays sweeping over the whole of the bottle surface. It still has all its original stickers.
The box measures: 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches. It is 1 1/2 inches deep.
I am listing this set at a very fair price - you will have to look hard to ever find another one with original box - so a very special item to add to your vintage cosmetics collection.
