Morny's French Fern was a popular range of toiletries produced by the British company. It was particularly populr in the 1930s and 1940s. The range was a rather refined one and included perfumes, powders, soaps, and other grooming products,
I am listing here a little gift set dating to the early 20th century - possibly the 1940s. It consists of three toiletries: A tin of vintage French Fern Talcum power. The tin is in fantastic condition with no rust or losses to the decoration. There is a glass bottle of Morny French Fern bath essence - I love the label and the little pastel Art Deco plastic bottle top. There is also a glass bottle of hand cream - the bottle is the same shape but it is not green - but a pink colour. There is a rose on the label of the hand cream bottle so I am supposing that it might be a floral fragrance rather they the more zingy fern one. But it is original to the set and fits snuggly into the presentation tube. All the contents are present and the set unused. The tube measures 5 inches in height - and it has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches.
This early Morny products are now hard to find - and will be probably more of interest to the specialist collector.
The thing that is particularly amazing with this set - is that the original gift box or retail box still survives. The box takes the form on a tube - with inserted foot and card lid. There is also a little gold card insert to pop in the tube to hold the three items in place and so they dont rattle about.
The tube is covered in a gold foil paper - with a printed decoration of jousting knights and trumpteers on it - and the word Morny repeated on unfurled flags. I have never seen this packaging before - so uber rare! I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
