This is a lovely little Scottish Strathearn Paperweight chunky glass dish.
This is a pretty example and dates to the 1960s. These are interesting little Scottish glass bowls. Many of these little dishes would have originally started life as a paperweight - but perhaps the maker found a flaw in it when it was being created and turned the millefiori decorations in a little dish cased in clear glass. There appears to be a tiny trapped air-bubble in my dish. But they are certainly interesting wee pieces.
I like the pretty colours in this one. The main body colour is yellow with inset blue and white millefiori canes and a central rosette of red and blue canes. There are eight white latticino spokes - typical of Strathearn pieces.
The dish measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches and has a height of 1 1/4 inches. The weight is 370 grams.
