This is an attractive vintage solid silver trinket box or cabinet display box. It is an older piece made by Janice Ainsworth - who works at Hansford Enamels in Birmingham (founded 1992).
She is a quality modern silversmith and her boxes are made with exquisite care and attention to detail. Each box takes many hours to painstaking work to build up the layers of fine enamel colours and details.
This is an earlier piece made by Janice in 1998 - and it is fully hallmarked on the base - as photographed.
It is a wonderful hand-painted solid silver box - the painting shows a large stag in a Highland Landscape. The design is very reminiscent of the magnificent stags painted by the celebrated Victorian artist, Sir Edwin Landseer. The detail really needs to be seen in close up - it is meticulous.
Being hand-made and handcrafted - it is a unique piece.
It is certainly a fine solid silver box - with a nice size and weight to it.
The box measures as follows 8,5 cm wide by 6 cm. With a height of is roughly 1.5 cm. My little silver box is listed at a fair price.
It is 72 grams in weight.
Any white marks on my photographs are not on the box - but are reflections from the shiny enamel surface of the lid.
It will be sent to you in a simple red coloured gift box, as shown
