This is a lovely SINGLE antique Georgian glass roemers. I also have four matched pairs listed on my website; but this single one has a different foot and is slightly larger. All of them are in excellent antique condition. my glasses date to around the late 18th century / early 19th century.
The glass measures: 4 1/2 inches in height. The diameter at the rim is 2 1/2 inches and with a wider foot of 2 3/4 inches.
Georgian roemers were a popular shape for English glass production during the Georgian era (1714 - 1837). They have a bell-shaped bowl, and a thicker hollow stem which is decorated with applied "prunts" (little bosses shaped like raspberries). The prunts were not only decorative but assisted your grip on the stem. The foot is often wider then the rim of the bowl. Being hand-blown they have snapped pontils on the bottom of the foot.
This glass has circular ridges on the top of the foot (my other glasses have a plain polished foot). And it is slightly larger.
I have taken lots of images of my glasses for your inspection. They will be sent as a pair to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) service. Postal discounts would apply if you would wish more than one pair.
