This is a fabulous large and chunky stoneware teapot which was designed in the late 1970s or early 1980s by the Danish designer, Jesper Packness.
Packness was born in 1945. He was inspired by the Italian Memphis Group in the 1980s but has developed his own style. This is one of his more rustic designs. Packness still has a shop in the center of Copenhagen.
I just love this design with the textured stoneware main body and the painted concentric stripes at the bottom. The lid is indented and fits into the main body section. It is also decorated with concentric brown rings.
A very stylish Danish teapot for a mid-century inspired interior.
It has an impressed mark on the base: J Packness / Denmark, as photographed.
My gorgeous pot is in pristine vintage condition with no condition issues of any kind. It is listed here at a fair price.
It has a stonking weight and unpacked it is 1.9 kg
The dimensions are as follows: spout to handle is 11 1/2 inches. The height is 6 inches; the diameter at the base is 7 1/2 inches.
Due to its exceptional size and weight, the pot would be sent with Royal Mail Tracked, Medium Parcel. This will be quoted at checkout.
