This is a rare and beautifully modelled figurine by Bing and Grondahl (Royal Copenhagen)
The figurine features a nude girl seated on harbour steps - to me she resembles Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid (but minus her tail!)
The model is No. 2302 - and the base is marked with the Jespersen / Ebbe Sadolin mark and with the three Royal Towers of Copenhagen.
In 1987, Bing and Grondahl (B&G) merged with Royal Copenhagen, the other leading Danish porcelain manufacturer. Shortly thereafter, all figurines in production were given NEW three digit model number, and the B&G trademark was replaced with the Royal Copenhagen trademark.
21 x 20 cm
In excellent vintage condition with no damages. This particular model is now hard to find and this is reflected in my asking price - which is a fair one.
More photographs can be suppled on request.
