This is a lovely piece of vintage Dartington Glass - designed by British glass maestro, Frank Thrower in 1981. But the design certainly looks as if it might date from an earlier period.
It is a very 1960s space age in feel.
A fine minimalistic design, which would look great in a more modern interior with Scandi-modern furniture.
These vases were given the nickname of Mucho Macho vases.
It is very heavy in weight, with a thick layer of crystal clear glass to the base - with undulated in and out into a large gourd shape above.
Hope that my photographs do this fine piece of glass justice as it was a bit tricky to photograph.
It measures in at about 5 1/2 inches in height.
It also retains the original gold Dartington sticker.
It is in very good condition with no damages - any white marks on the images are reflections and are not on the glass piece.
Weight is 815 grams
This fine sculptural piece of British Art Glass; Frank Thrower is certainly at present a most undervalued British designer.
My lovely glass sculptural vase is in excellent condition with no damages, and no scratches etc.
Listed at a very fair for a Mucho Macho vase... looks great on in a mid-century interior.
