This is a pretty little piece of Mid Century Poole Pottery.
It dates to the early 1950s and is all hand painted. The mark on the base was used on items made between 1952 and 1955.
I love the bluebird pattern - and this little jug is certainly a really lovely one. The paintwork is all hand done and shows a little bluebird flying towards the shout - and another one on the other side flying to the handle. Lots of beautiful flowers.
Although dating to the 1950s - it is certainly looking back to earlier Art Deco pieces for inspiration.
It is certainly a very fine piece of British art pottery - and interest in the early 20th century pieces of Poole is again in the ascendent.
The interior of the pot as an eggshell lilac-pink glaze. No chips, cracks or hairlines etc.
Height is 3 1/2 inches and from handle to spout is 4 3/4 inches. The weight unpacked is 250 grams.
Very sweet little piece of collectable Poole - fair price to sell.
