This is a rare little butter dish (or perhaps trinket box) made in the 1960s by Portmeirion Pottery.
The lid and box section are present and both are in excellent condition with no damages. The glaze on the lidded dish is a vibrant glossy blue and the lid is decorated with a raised design of abstract patterns called Totem.
I have owned this box for many years and it has always been looked after and it is just a really fine condition. I had never used it to store butter in and it was only on display. So there is no crazing to the glaze on the base - which you often find with these dishes. Indeed, it is as good as the day it was made. These lidded boxes are now hard to find and this is reflected in my asking price.
Dimensions: The dish is 19cm long and is 13cm wide. It has an overall height of 8 cm. It would fit a nice slab of salted butter perfectly.
