This is nice set of six vintage Edinburgh Crystal slender fluted glasses Ideal for bubbly Prosecco wines at family celebrations.
The Ayr pattern is a more simple one (but one that you dont come across that often). It was produced from 1993 - 1998. These six that I have on offer were probably from the shop for visitors to the Penicuik Factory (just outside of Edinburgh). Edinburgh Crystal went into receivership in 2006 and at this date the Penicuik Factory closed down.
On offer there are six of these pretty glasses. I love how the bowl sweeps up from the stem. The base is plain. . They are in perfect condition with no damage. The have a diamond sticker near the rim and another oblong one on the foot, as photographed.
They measure as follows: 7 3/8 inches in height. The rim has a diameter 2 3/4 inches. The foot is 2 1/2 inches. When tapped they have a beautiful ring, which is a mark of quality. They do not have an etched inscription on the base due to them having all the labels placed on them to authenticate them. They are just such lovely glasses. I am listing them at £15 each glass.

History: The Edinburgh and Leith Flint Glassworks was established in the 1860s at Leith Walk Glassworks and later at Norton Park in Edinburgh.
In 1921 the glassworks became part of Webbs Crystal Glass Company. In 1955, The Edinburgh and Leith Glassworks became Edinburgh Crystal, and the next decade saw further expansion and eventually the demolition of the old glassworks at Norton Park and new premises at Penicuik 10 miles south of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Crystal went into administration in July 2006. Although the brand was taken over by the Waterford / Wedgwood Group the factory no longer exists and the brand is now discontinued.
