This is a very rare item - and not many ever come onto the market.

It is an item for the specialist collectors of owls / bells or early plastics.
What is on offer here is a finely modelled celluloid table top or desk bell in the shape of an owl's head. These novelty bells are probably German or continental in origin. He dates to the early 20th century - and is probably an Edwardian novelty dating to around 1900.
The top of the bell is made of a cream-coloured celluloid material - with a brown patination to pick up all the details of the feathers. Mr Owl has his original clear glass eyes. His beak is intact with no damages or restorations - you press down gently on his wee beak and the bell tings - how delightful. His ears are also completely intact with their pointed tips present.
The metal underside reveals his wind-up mechanism - to keep the bell wound up.
This little owl is the cream version with his clear glass eyes - there appears to have been another variant of this one - with a darker brown colour to the celluloid and brown glass eyes.
He is a nice size for your desk - and measures about 4 inches in diameter - and is about 2 1/2 inches in height.
As mentioned these little owl bells are exceptionally rare now - as there is a certainly delicacy to them. This one is especially so as his little beak is not broken and this area was often damaged and restored. My asking price for this wee collectable bell - is a very fair one. They don't come on the market that often.
I have taken lots of images of the little bell so that you can assess his condition.
I am afraid that I would not be able to post to EU countries. UK postage will be capped at £4.95 - and applied to your order at the checkout. To send to the States would cost about £25 - £30 (due to enhanced insurance, tracking etc).
