This is probably more of an item for the specialist collector of antique tin plate toys.
This is pair of metal spinning tops - which you would spin on your tabletop to keep your little children (and yourself!) amused.
You often find just the spinning top sections - but the spinning mechanism is missing - as is often the original box.
Considering this toy is now over 100 years old it is in excellent condition.
The box is the original card one with an Art Deco pattern (as photographed) all over, and onto the lid is attached the label - showing the tops and spinner mechanism in operation. The box is a little dust-ingrained which has occurred over 100 years - but not grimy just natural with age.
The box and toy are German in origin, but also developed for the UK market. It reads: Die neueften Sring - keeifel / The new Spring Top. DDR DRGH.
I love the little images of the children at play. They are very prim and proper and the little boy wears a very fashionable sailor suit.
The inside of the box - has the instructions printed on the inside of the lid - in German and English (with lots of English spelling mistakes lol).
Inside the box - is the spinning mechanism and the two stripey metal spinning tops. All in original condition with no repainting or touch-ups. There is only a tiny scuff to a bit of the white paint on the red, white, and blue top.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. Listed at a fair price - probably more of a museum piece now for a toy gallery. I cant find another so complete.
