This is another of my fabulous vintage tins that I have on offer in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop.
This one is a nice large tin probably intended for use as a sewing box or craft workbox - or perhaps for storing artist materials such as paints or coloured pencils.
It is certainly designed to be moved about - as it has two white metal handles to allow you to carry the box around with ease.
The handles fold right down to the sides, as photographed.
The lid lifts off to allow you access to the contents.
It is a really beautiful old tin - can't see any maker's name on the tin - but there is a mark on the base where originally an old label or sticker with all those details might have been. It is inscribed on the side: Made in England.
It is in very good vintage condition - with no nasty scratches etc.
There is the usual oxidisation to the metal on the inside which you always find with old tins - but it is lovely and clean.
The pattern is certainly very pretty and I just love it - the main colour of the background is black and the surface is covered all over with the most fantastic array of pastel coloured flowers.
Again, you wont see another like this so easily. I only have the one - so dont miss out!
Dimensions: Length is 11 3/4 inches. Width is 8 inches and the height is 3 1/2 inches (7 1/2 inches) with the handles up.
