This is certainly a very stunning paperweight to add to your collection.
It was made by the glass at Caithness Glass by Gordon Hendry
This one is called CALLA LILY.
It is number 2=140 out of a limited edition of 500 pieces.
It is a very fine mode modernist design - of domed shape with a sliced faceted viewing window to the front.
The faceted frontage is angled and then rounded at the top.
The main body is clear glass with a film of emerald green shading to the rear. This green colour certainly brings out both the colour and form of the flower inside.
The weight features a very life-like representation of a Calla Lily. The lily is shown as a single crisp white boom with a yellow stamen in the centre - it is very three-dimensional in form.
Fully inscribed with maker's details and issue details on the base.
Dimensions: height is 4 1/4 inches and at the widest is has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches
Unpacked it is 1kg in weight which reflects its larger size.
A great paperweight - made with great skill and has a simple sophistication to it. It looks much better in "real life" and the flower petals certainly look like real ones in the weight.
It is of course in excellent condition with no damages. This is a harder to find Scottish paperweight and this is reflected in my asking price.
