This is a fabulous vintage Scottish paperweight made by Caithness Glass - as noted on the etched inscription on the base. It was made by Colin Terris in 1989.
It also notes that it is one from a small limited edition of only 750 weights. It is certainly a complicated one and most beautifully made. It is spherical in form with a faceted viewing window at the front.
Inside there is a large single floating bubble - which is surrounded by green and pink swirls. The bubble floats in a "sea" of cobalt blue coloured glass on the bottom section of the paperweight. Towards the back, there is a net of controlled bubbles which you can see through the viewing panel on the front.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It must have taken a lot of skill and time to make this very attractive weight. The diameter is 3 inches.
