This is a rare matching set of pencil signed and titled lithographic prints (made after the original silk screenprints) by Canadian First Nations artists.
These dates to the late 1970s. So now over 40 years old.
They were all published by Artisan Prints, Victoria, British Columbia in Canada.
They are fine productions and now highly sought after as rare survivors.
They were issued as specialist collectors art cards - and released as limited editions.
The print on the front of each card is a typical totemic indigenous image - relating to Canadian history and legend. Each image has been pencil signed below by the artist - and also titled. Inside the cards, there are some yellow printed sheets with details of the artist and the image on the front. There is also a short biography, as photographed, about each artist printed on the inner card sheet.
Each card measures; 15.5 x 23 cm. They all still retain their original envelopes.
The artists and works featured are as follows: 1/ Tim Paul (Thunderbird) 2/ Richard Hunt (Loon) 3/Henry Hunt (Eagle and Salmon) 4/ Jim Johnny (Kingfisher) and 5/ Jim Johnny (Thunderbird).
These vintage Art Cards are now much sought after - and I have these priced at £35 for each one - so a grand total of £175 for the five here.
All are in excellent condition - and still have their original plain paper envelopes - they have never been used and stored away since the early 1980s - so no fading or condition issues with them.
All framed up would make a fine and interesting decorative feature - as mentioned, these are hard-to-find pieces of paper ephemera - and you sometimes find them going through specialist auctions.
UK Postage is being quoted at £10.00- which will be applied at check-out. This will be Special Next Day Delivery so they can be signed for, insured, and fully tracked with the Royal Mail.
The five items shown in my images are the works that will be sent to you.
