These are really beautiful vintage Edinburgh Crystal claret or short-stemmed wine glasses.

They are a great size for a nice red wine or perhaps a G&T - they just sit nicely in your hand.

These are harder to find patterns and date to around the 1940s.

On offer here is a pair of Scottish crystal glasses as photographed.

I have two pairs in my shop.

The design features an engraved pattern all around the bowl section - we have abstract triangular shapes to the bottom - out of which comes a simple thistle head with two simple flowerheads to each side of each thistle. One has an etched older Edinburgh Crystal mark to the base - which authenticates the design of the set to Edinburgh Crystal - it is a much rarer pattern and not often found.

The bowl of each glass is shaped like a large wine glass - but each has a shorter stem.

Although historically called claret glasses - size-wise they can also be used for wine if you do not like longer stems on your glasses.

As you can see, the pair is in perfect tip-top condition, and don't think that they have ever been used. All the most stunning engraved Scottish glasses. Being sold at a bargain price of £15 each. Great for Burn's Night celebrations...

Each glass is just under 4 3/4 inches in height with a diameter at the top of 3 1/4 inches. The foot measures just under 2 3/4 inches.
