This is a very pretty little Art Deco Watercolour - it has been signed E. Douglas and dated 1933.
It is a very stylised design - and would look good hanging beside woodblock prints by Hall Thorpe - which are similar in abstracted shapes, colours and atmosphere.
This lovely little watercolour shows a Japanese lady with two little children huddled under the canopy for a large parasol. It is a highly attractive and detailed image, as you can see from my photographs.
This gouache/watercolour is a genuine painted picture - and is NOT a print or reproduction.
It is one of four works by this artist that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh online store... this is one of the larger sized ones. Update: the two smaller ones have already sold.
The image measures: 32.5 x 24.5 cm. The frame measures 48 x 41 cm
The works have been re-framed with a simple plain black frame - and will look good in any interior. The picture also has a new fresh clean ivory coloured mount - beautiful wee picture, well presented and ready to hang straight on your wall.
Please note: The price quoted here is from the artwork only.
The frame comes free with this artwork. Any damage in transit to the frame / mount / picture glass will not be subject to any refunds, discounts or re-framing costs from us.
FOR POSTAGE OUTSIDE OF THE UK, THE GLASS WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PICTURE
